OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A temporary arrangement has been reached for two Lincoln County communities that have lost ambulance service.

The Schuster Group, which is the parent company of EMTRO, says the ambulance service for Prague and Stroud closed at midnight.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health's Emergency Medical Services Division held an emergency meeting with city officials Friday from both communities and local ambulance providers.

The agreement will ensure that adequate ambulance coverage for the communities will be available.

The arrangement calls for some EMTRO staff to be hired as temporary employees by other providers pending further notice.

The Governor's Emergency Medical Services Task Force has been reviewing the problem of statewide ambulance service closures for the past year.

A report from the task force is expected to be presented to the governor later this month.
