DANVILLE, Ark. (AP) -- Police in Danville, Arkansas, say the man piloting a plane that crashed and killed the three Oklahomans on board was Brandon Wayne Hughes of Ada.
Also killed in the crash were Oklahoma Youth Expo director Justin Whitefield and Jenny Parton.
Youth Expo board chairman Bob Funk says Whitefield was returning from the Breeder's Cup in Louisville, Kentucky, while a friend of Parton's says she had been doing lobbying work for Whitefield.
Danville police Detective Kenneth Jackson says the three were aboard a six-passenger plane when the pilot reported engine trouble to air-traffic controllers. He says the plane went down in a farm cow pasture about two miles from the runway of the Danville airport.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
