McALESTER, Okla. (AP) _ A Pittsburg County man has surrendered himself after being charged with first-degree murder.

Michael Dean Krebbs is being held in the Pittsburg County jail in lieu of $500,000 bond. He's accused of shooting Ty Mordecai [pictured] in the chest on August 3rd.

The charge was filed on Friday by District Attorney Emily Redman of Durant. She took over the case after Pittsburg County District Attorney Jim Bob Miller recused his office from handling it.

Miller stepped down because he and Krebbs had once been part of a group that went on a hunting trip in Colorado.

Krebbs owned an oil field construction business and had fired Mordecai because of poor attendance. An affidavit filed in the case says Mordecai began phoning and threatening Krebbs.
