The runways at Tulsa International Airport are getting a $12.2-million facelift.
The improvements include 4,500 feet of new taxiways, plus a new 7,000 foot runway that will be available for commercial airliners in 2009.
The main runway will be closed for a few weeks while crews clean up rubber build-up from planes landing on the runway.
Airport officials say crews are working 24 hours a day to complete the projects on time.
