HOUSTON (AP) _ Kevin Kolb outdueled Bobby Reid by throwing for 313 yards and four touchdowns to lead Houston to a 34-25 win over Oklahoma State.

Kolb had touchdown passes of 42, 33, 27 and seven yards Saturday night. Reid, who is from the Houston area, kept the Cowboys in the game and finished with 281 yards passing and three touchdowns.

The Cougars took advantage of an overturned call to take a 24-to-17 lead just before halftime.

Jeron Harvey caught a short pass from Kolb and was trying for extra yards when the ball was stripped by Rodrick Johnson and recovered by Oklahoma State.

Houston coach Art Briles challenged the call and it was overturned with the official saying Harvey's forward progress was stopped before the turnover.

D'Juan Woods scored on a 26-yard pass from Reid late in the third quarter and Julius Crosslin ran for the two-point conversion to get OSU within 27-25.

Kolb responded by throwing his fourth touchdown pass to Biren Ealy, extending the Cougars' lead to 34-25 early in the fourth.

OSU threatened with about eight minutes left, but was stopped when Houston recovered Crosslin's fumble on the one-yard line.
