NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ The father of Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson will have to wait a little longer before getting to see his son play in person.

Nelson Peterson spent nearly seven years in prison for money laundering until he was released to a halfway house in Oklahoma City this summer. But his request to attend Saturday's OU-Alabama-Birmingham game in Norman is being denied.

Adrian Peterson says he can't understand the reason for the denial because his father has traveled to Edmond where he works at an auto dealership.

Nelson Peterson is expected to be released on October 5th and would be free to go as he pleases.
