HOMINY, Okla. (AP) -- State prison officials are investigating the weekend stabbing death of a convicted killer at a state prison in Osage County.
Tray Ingram died Saturday after being found in his cell about 4:45 p.m. Saturday at the Dick Conner Correctional Center in Hominy with a stab wound, said Oklahoma Department of Corrections spokesman Jerry Massie.
"It appears the cause of death was a knife wound to his upper left chest area," Massie said.
Massie said Ingram's cellmate reported finding Ingram down in the cell and does not appear to be a suspect in the death.
Ingram was serving life without parole after being convicted in Nov. 1995 of the Aug. 1994 beating death of John Patrick Green in Owasso.
