OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A homebuilders associatoin says roofing, wood panels and labor may soon be in short supply because of the high demand for repairs in the storm-damaged Gulf Coast region.

The National Association of Homebuilders released its first post-hurricane report this week.

The group says after the initial repair phase, rebuilding will cause other strains on supplies of labor and other materials.

Central Oklahoma Homebuilders Association President Perry Rice says high gas prices already are causing problems for construction.

Rice says its likely material prices will be next to skyrocket.
