OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Displaced residents of Louisiana finding a home in Oklahoma will be able to receive temporary identification cards from the state.
The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety says it plans to issue temporary IDs at no cost. To qualify, residents must have a driver's license or ID card on file with the state of Louisiana that Oklahoma officials can verify through digital records.
The DPS says if the resident's identity can't be verified, they won't be able to issue an ID card.
Applications for the temporary cards can be obtained at any driver's license examination office across the state or at the DPS office in Oklahoma City.
