LAWTON, Okla. (AP) -- More Fort Sill soldiers are headed for Iraq.
A division of the 17th Field Artillery Brigade stood in formation for a farewell message from artillery commander Colonel David Haught Tuesday.
Haught says 157 members of C Battery, First Battalion, 12th Field Artillery will serve as an M-915 truck company in support of the 180th Transportation Battalion from Fort Hood, Texas.
Officials say the M-915 is the 40-foot military version of a tractor-trailer.
The unit deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom for major combat operations in 2003, but its mission changed before the end of its stay.
Haught says since the unit returned last year, members have trained on stability and support operations as well as individual and crew serve weapons.
