EL RENO, Okla. (AP) _ A South African man was killed today when the sport utility vehicle he was in blew a tire and overturned on Interstate 40 in Canadian County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 20-year-old Kanyemba (can-YEM'-bah) Moonga was killed in the crash shortly after noon.

Troopers say Moonga was a passenger in the vehicle that was traveling in the interstate's eastbound lanes. The vehicle's left rear tire blew out, causing it to leave the roadway and veer into the median.

The patrol says the vehicle overcorrected and went back into eastbound traffic, overturning two-and-on-half times and striking a tractor-trailer truck.

Moonga was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say he was not wearing a seat belt.
