OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A warning to students at Oklahoma and Oklahoma State and planning to party this weekend before the start of classes on Monday _ police will be watching.
Police in Norman and Stillwater say they'll put extra officers on the streets and increase patrols to look for underage drinkers and for drunken drivers.
Police also hope the increased presence will reduce binge drinking and the number of fights.
Efforts to reduce student drinking have increased since last September when OU fraternity pledge Blake Hammontree died of alcohol poisoning at a frat party.
