McALESTER, Okla. (AP) -- A Pittsburg County jail inmate who walked away from a work crew is back behind bars.

Pittsburg County officials say Joe Bascom was taken into custody after vehicle and foot pursuits with authorities in Hope, Arkansas.

Undersheriff Richard Sexton says Bascom may be returned Monday to Pittsburg County.

Authorities say Bascom took a pickup from a work site in McAlester last week and later stole another truck south of McAlester.
