OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Governor Brad Henry says Friday's meeting the General Motors officials about the GM plant in Oklahoma City was productive and positive.

Henry and other state and local officials met with GM at Henry's request.

Details of the meeting weren't disclosed, but Henry says he reiterated the state's commitment to keeping the GM plant in Oklahoma.

GM laid off 235 workers at the plant in January and said in April it would eliminate the second shift and more than 800 jobs. The company reversed the decision to eliminate the shift and sales have increased since the start of a program of selling most cars and trucks at prices paid by GM employees.

GM has about 2,400 employees in Oklahoma City who assemble the GMC Envoy and the Chevrolet TrailBlazer.
