A second illegal dam has been found on the Barron Fork River in eastern Oklahoma. This time, the dam is in Cherokee County.

This comes just days after a much larger illegal dam was found on the same river in Adair County. Authorities don't know who's responsible for the first dam they found in Adair County, but say several witnesses have come forward with information. That dam is 420 feet across and 6 to 8 feet high.

The Wauhilla Club claims responsibility for the illegal dam in Cherokee County. They say they were given permission by the Army Corp of Engineers to stabilize a nearby swing bridge. They built the dam to deflect the flow of water to take some pressure off the bridge.

The Wauhilla Club is working with EPA to remove the dam.
