HEALDTON, Okla. (AP) -- Firefighters battled flames and intense heat to contain a fire that destroyed two buildings in downtown Healdton.

John King, city manager of the Carter County city, says no one was injured in the blaze that swept through a restaurant and an adjacent structure used as living quarters by the restaurant's owner.

Firefighters from 10 different departments from as far away as Ardmore 20 miles to the east helped fight Sunday's blaze. King says authorities were concerned flames might spread to adjacent structures.

The fire started about 6:30 PM and quickly consumed a building that housed the Pizza Deli Express. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.

King says some firefighters suffered smoke inhalation and others became dehydrated while fighting the blaze.
