Two boys struck by lightning over the weekend in Broken Arrow continue to recover. Witnesses say two boys were playing by a backyard tree, when lightning struck nearby.

Oklahoma ranks 15th in the nation when it comes to the number of lightning-related deaths. Experts call lightning the under-rated killer. It’s the leading edge of the storm, before the rain starts, when you see the most cloud-to-ground lightning.

News on 6 meteorologist Jim Giles: "It is very very dangerous. More people die of lightning than of tornadoes for Pete’s sake. So it is a very dangerous thing."

To take cover from lightning, go to a permanent building or a vehicle that's not a convertible.

The two teenage boys are still in the hospital; their conditions have not been released.
