WICHITA, Kan. (AP) -- The former Boeing commercial airplane plant in Wichita gets a new name and a new logo.
Spirit Aerosystems Incorporated includes the Wichita plant as well as former Boeing operations in Tulsa and McAlaster, Oklahoma.
The plants were sold last month to the Canadian investment firm Onex Incorporated, which gave them the temporary name of Mid-Western Aircraft Systems.
Boeing had owned the Wichita plant since 1929.
Along with announcing the new name yesterday, Spirit CEO Jeff Turner also showed off the new logo. It's a stylized four-point star.
