An elderly Tulsa man dies in an early Monday apartment fire.

It happened at the River Park Apartments at 7803 South Wheeling Avenue around 2 AM.

Fire crews found one man inside the apartment. He was taken to the hospital where he later died. The fire caused $10,000 to $15,000 in damage. Officials say the cause of the fire appears to be smoking in bed.

The victim's name has not been released.
