Tulsa voters decide the future of two controversial city councilors on Tuesday. The results are in for districts 2 and 6. Chris Medlock and Jim Mautino will keep their jobs.
The results weren't close. A look at the final numbers shows in district 2, 41-percent of voters wanted to recall Chris Medlock. A majority of the voters, 59-percent, voted against the recall.
In east Tulsa's district 6, there was a wider margin of victory for Jim Mautino. 29-percent voted for the recall, but 71-percent voted against it.
In a statement, the leader of the recall effort Jon Davidson says this was a loss for all Tulsans, a loss for the whole community.
Tulsa County Election Board officials say the turnout for the election was heavy. The election cost taxpayers $32,000.
