IRWINDALE, Calif. (AP) _ Fresh-cut fruit producer OBIM is recalling various fresh-cut cantaloupe items because of a risk of salmonella contamination.
The company says the items are packaged in sealed, clear-plastic containers ranging in size from six ounces to five pounds.
They are sold to retail stores in the southwest, the south and the midwest under both the O-B-I-M and Ready Pac brand names. The products are distributed in eleven states, including Oklahoma, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri and and Texas.
The items subject to the recall carry ``best before'' dates of July 17 or July 18. Consumers can return them to the stores where they bought them.
