Folks in Muskogee 'legally' fired up fireworks for the first time this year.
The city hoped to increase sales tax revenue by allowing fireworks sales inside the city limits.
Fireworks stands report brisk sales and happy customers.
Fireworks vendor Jason Redfearn: "everybody's loving it cause you ain't gotta get in the car and make a family trip out of it to get fireworks."
Muskogee will have to wait for tax receipts to see whether the new rules brought in more revenue.
Muskogee Police tell The News On 6, fireworks sales inside the city did not cause any more problems than past years when they were illegal.
