NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- An off-duty FBI agent is accused of making a false call about a law enforcement officer being shot at Lake Thunderbird.
Chris Wagner is charged in Cleveland County with a misdemeanor of false reporting of a crime. He's accused of making an anonymous radio call to a Moore police dispatcher in May and saying he was an officer who had been shot twice.
The call led to a two-hour search of the lake by several police agencies.
Court documents say Wagner later confessed to his superiors that he made the call while intoxicated.
Wagner worked for the Oklahoma City FBI office at the time, but FBI spokesman Gary Johnson would not say if Wagner is still employed by the agency.
