The Tulsa Police Department is fighting back against years of retirements and transfers with its first class of new officers in two years.
The cadet class of 45 is one of the largest in the department's history. Jerry Isaacs is a recent TPD retiree. He has a personal connection to this group of new officers. His son, Joel, is now carrying on the family legacy.
Tulsa Police Sgt Jerry Isaacs: "I think he'll do a fine job because he's a good man, and the people that put their lives into this are good men and good women and they accomplish great things on a daily basis and people don't know it."
A class of 30 new cadets begins training next month and a smaller class is set to start in January.
