KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ Kansas City, Missouri, police admit they returned only one of 50 calls from an Oklahoma man who helped break the ``Precious Doe'' case.

An internal review shows 81-year-old Thurmon McIntosh of Muskogee called police repeatedly for about a year saying he knew the little girl whose headless body was found in Kansas City in 2001. Only three of the calls were logged in the case file and detectives returned only one.

McIntosh's information led to the identification of dead girl as 3-year-old Erica Michelle Green. The girl's mother, Michelle Johnson, and the mother's husband, Harrell Johnson, are now charged with second-degree murder and awaiting trial.

Police received eleven-hundred tips during the four years the case was open and Sergeant Dave Bernard says it was overwhelming.
