35 Tulsa firefighter cadets felt the heat of a fire first hand Friday, thanks to state of the art training equipment.
The Sapulpa Fire Department trained the Tulsa cadets in a burn simulator. The simulator gives firefighters to chance to extinguish different types of fires and while the equipment is expensive, firefighters say it's worth every penny.
Tulsa Fire Captain Dannie Caldwell: "The time for us to train and practice is not when you and your family is trapped inside a burning building. This is when we need to be training. The prop is expensive, but you can not put a on the citizens of Tulsa and the citizens of Oklahoma."
The simulator also demonstrates a flashover, which can be extremely dangerous and is when flames roll across the ceiling towards the floor.
