BEGGS, Okla. (AP) A Bristow man dies in a single-vehicle accident on Oklahoma Highway 16 in Okmulgee County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 78-year-old Willard Davis died at the scene of the accident near Beggs about 1:10 Sunday afternoon.

Troopers say Davis' truck was headed east on the highway when it ran off the south side of the road for some reason. Davis got the truck back on the pavement, but it continued off on the north side, going into a ditch and striking a tree on the driver's side.

Davis suffered head and internal injuries in the accident.

Troopers say Davis was wearing a seat belt.
