A Tulsa movie group says Hollywood is considering Oklahoma as a new hotspot for film and TV.

"The Oklahoma Film Project" is ready to announce a push to relocate big movie companies to Oklahoma, pumping millions into the economy and even more money from tourism. News on 6 anchor Scott Thompson says there is even talk that one of those production houses could be built in downtown Tulsa.

Planners say Oklahoma is a perfect fit for the movie industry. They say the changing terrain, unique architecture, and mix of urban and rural areas makes it a great setting for almost any film.

The buzz has already caught the ear of producer, Joel Douglas. Douglas produced "Romancing the Stone" with brother Michael Douglas and has made other movies with his father Kirk, and his new sister-in-law, Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Douglas says even though movies have been shot in Oklahoma before, he could move entire production houses to the state to make movies here year-round. "We're looking for a working environment in which an industry can grow and go, so we're looking for flexibility."

The moviemakers are hoping to get some tax incentives if they come to the state.
