OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- University of Oklahoma students will be paying more for room and board.
OU regents voted to raise rates for on-campus housing and meal plans by 6.5 percent and to increase rent by 5 percent at Kraettli and Parkview apartments.
The regents also approved issuing $75-million in bonds to build a comprehensive cancer center. Officials say the center will provide cancer research, diagnosis, treatment and prevention services.
Construction is to start next year and the center is to open in 2008. The bonds will be repaid with money from the state's new tobacco sales tax.
