She was known as â€œthe darling wife of Oral Roberts" and a mother of four. Evelyn Roberts was always by her husbandâ€™s side, but now, those who knew her say she's in a better place.

Mrs. Roberts died Wednesday night in a California hospital after slipping into a coma after falling and hitting her head.

6 in the Morning reporter Omar Villafranca says her family was with her when she died Wednesday night, the same way she was always there for them and others.

Mrs. Roberts was a preacherâ€™s daughter when she married Oral Roberts 66 years ago. She was by his side when he started Oral Roberts University, even helping out in his ministry through the years.

At ORU, many people remember her as the campus mom. She always nurtured students on campus when they needed it and kept them on the right path when they strayed. Former students say she was gracious and very spiritual, but to her family, she was much more.

Richard Roberts: "this precious woman of God brought me into the world 56 years ago. I love her; I miss her, with all my heart."

Lindsay Roberts: "I can't tell you what an inspiration 25 years of marriage in my family to sit back at the feet of Evelyn Roberts has been to me."

Thursday is a National Day of Prayer and there was a service Thursday morning where they took some time to remember and pray Evelyn Roberts and her family.

A public memorial service for Mrs. Roberts is set for Monday, May 9th at 2 PM at Christ's Chapel on the ORU campus.
