WICHITA, Kan. (AP) -- A Boeing official says the company would probably reduce its presence in Wichita, Kansas, if a deal for its commercial aircraft operation in Oklahoma and Kansas falls through.

Boeing reached agreement on the sale of plants in Tulsa, McAlester and Wichita earlier this year with the Onex Corporation. But the Canadian investment firm must clear several hurdles, including reaching labor agreements with Boeing's unions.

Boeing vice president Jim Morris is quoted in a Wichita newspaper as saying collapse of the deal could lead Boeing to consolidate facilities, outsource work and sell parts of the business.
