A suspect in a carjacking and attempted bank robbery is in custody in the Muskogee County jail.

Muskogee County Sheriffâ€™s deputies say Patrick Howard stole a Jaguar from a woman and her son at a car wash Tuesday evening.

Wednesday morning, deputies say Howard tried to rob a bank in Porter, but bank employees were able to lock a door to prevent him from coming inside.

Deputies chased after Howard and say he shot at them before he crashed the car and was arrested.
