The Tulsa Raceway Park owner released a final report on the deaths of Shelly Howard and her son Brian.
Racing authorities say the accident will change drag racing nationwide. The report says a crash like this has never occurred before. It says Howard was testing a new dragster when she experienced -what's called- a "blow-over." That happens when too much air gets under the front wing and causes it to lift off the ground.
Howard's dragster flipped, then raced back toward the starting line and struck another vehicle with her son Brian inside.
The International Hot Rod Association says it’s looking into improving dragsters and creating an emergency engine shut-off that would prevent similar accidents.
