OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Oklahoma Gas & Electric Company says it'll ask the state Corporation Commission for a rate increase next month.
OG&E spokesman Brian Alford says the utility has determined how much of an increase to request, but says it will raise the average residential customer's bill by less than $5 per month. He says the request would include a plan to lower the rates of schools, small business owners and Tinker Air Force Base.
OG&E has said a rate increase will be needed to help pay for a power plant in McClain County the utility bought for about $160-million.
