With storm season here, folks in Geary, Oklahoma are worried they're old tornado siren is running out of steam.

The 45-year-old siren stopped working during a storm last year. It overheated after just about 10 minutes of use. Right now, it runs only for short periods of time and the town mayor says he's concerned about people's safety.

Geary Mayor Dawayne Janzen: "That's what I'm afraid of, our next time we have a tornado or the possibility of tornado we don't have reliability there."

Mayor Janzen hopes to purchase two new tornado sirens. They cost about $27,000 a piece.
