OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Oklahoma City-based Chesapeake Energy will join the nation's top companies in being listed among the Standard and Poor's 500.
The S&P 500 includes many of the country's largest and most actively traded companies and analysts say the listing will give Chesapeake exposure to more investors.
Chesapeake joins Oklahoma City-based Kerr-McGee and Devon Energy and Tulsa-based Williams Corporation as Oklahoma companies listed on the S&P 500.
Chesapeake will replace Ohio-based Dana Corporation on the index and will be listed beginning Thursday.
