WARR ACRES, Okla. (AP) _ Police removed a suspected pipe bomb Saturday from a trash bin outside a car wash.

An employee taking out the trash noticed a 4- to 5-inch piece of pipe with a fuse hanging from one end and called police.

``I just backed away from the dumpster as fast as I could get away from it,'' said Lester L. Lemmons, 56.

No bomb threat was made, and the Oklahoma City Bomb Squad safely removed the device.

Police evacuated several businesses including the car wash and a small apartment complex, said Maj. Pete Markstone of the Warr Acres police department.

Businesses, streets and the apartments were reopened after about an hour.
