Oklahoma roads remain slick and hazardous

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Another round of wintry mix of precipitation slickened Oklahoma roads, resulting in dozens of accidents and leaving motorists and vehicles stranded across the state.

Authorities say the mix of sleet, freezing rain and light snow was a contributing factor in at least four fatality accidents since Friday.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory last night for most of central, south-central and northeast Oklahoma.

But forecasters say the storm systems that dropped the snow, sleet and freezing rain began moving east of the area last night.

Forecasters say warmer temperatures should return today and daytime highs could be hitting the 50s and 60s by midweek.

School is also on the minds of many folks today, particularly children. Tulsa Public Schools already had the day off for President's Day.

Some of the bigger schools in our area that have closed schools include Bixby, Claremore and Sapulpa.
