It's tax time and a local officials are providing free help to families who make less than $38,000 a year.
From tax preparation to help with starting a savings account, the Community Action Project wants to get the word out about the service they offer. A representative from the IRS was on hand, talking about the earned income tax credit.
It's a tax refund that could be worth up to nearly $4,500, and he says many people don't even know about it. David Williams with the IRS: "from a federal level from a state level from a local level we know that the earned income tax credit can make a difference in the lives of every single American who works but doesn't make a lot of money."
