CHICKASHA, Okla. (AP) -- Police say a Chickasha woman is in jail on complaints of attempted murder after allegedly attempting to drown her three children in a bathtub.

Chickasha Police Chief Lynn Williams says 29-year-old Latoya Sherisse Trammell locked herself and her three children in the bathroom Monday.

Williams says authorities received several calls from family members seeking to remove the three children from their mother's custody.

Williams says officers broke down the bathroom door and took the children into custody.

The children, ages 5, 9 and 10, were unharmed and were placed in the custody of the Department of Human Services.

After her arrest, Trammell reportedly tried to jump out of a patrol car.

Jail officials say Trammell is being held without bond in the Grady County Jail on complaints of attempted murder and escape after a lawful arrest.
