DURANT, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities are searching for a murder suspect who escaped from the Bryan County jail in Durant over the weekend.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper Kera Philippi says 24-year-old Kevin Leon Cross was still missing Sunday night.
Philippi says Cross and two other inmates overpowered a jailer and escaped about 8 PM Saturday. The other two men were apprehended, but Cross is still on the loose.
Philippi says Cross was in jail awaiting trial on first-degree murder charges. He was arrested in Mexico on the murder complaint in September.
Cross was wearing a white T-shirt and a blue inmate jumpsuit when he escaped. He is 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 180 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.
