NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- University of Oklahoma President David Boren says he expects the university to reach the $1-billion mark in endowment funds with the next three years.
He says OU currently has $850-million in endowments. He says only 14 public universities are in the $1-billion club, and none of those are in Oklahoma.
Universities use endowments to pay for expansion, research and hiring top faculty.
