GROVE, Okla. (AP) -- A March 13th trial date is set for Grove City Manager Bill Galletly on bid splitting charges.
Galletly is accused of splitting contracts for construction of utility lines and remodeling of city hall offices in order to avoid the requirements of the Oklahoma Competitive Bidding Act.
The law requires public construction projects of more than $25,000 be formally bid.
Prosecutors say the utility project cost nearly $114,500 and the city hall project cost more than $14,500. Galletly is accused of splitting the contracts into separate projects to keep the cost of each under $2,500.
