ITASCA, Ill. (AP) -- OfficeMax Incorporated announced today it will close 110 of its approximately 950 U-S retail stores by March as part of a restructuring plan.
The company has two stores in Oklahoma, one in Oklahoma City and in Norman, but officials did not reveal which stores will be closed or how many jobs will be affected.
A company spokesman says the stores involved will be notified during the next week.
OfficeMax still intends to open 70 new stores this year and expects to have 887 domestic retail stores at the end of this year.
OfficeMax is the nation's third-largest office supplies retailer and has struggled to keep up with competitors Staples and Office Depot.
