Burning of the Greens-Twelfth Night Cancelled Due to Burn Ban

The statewide burn ban has forced the city of Tulsa to call off the annual Twelfth Night Burning of the Greens.

It's the second year in a row weather conditions have canceled the event. Last year, ice was to blame.

This year, Tulsa park officials talked with the state fire marshal to see if there was any possible loophole in the burn ban that would allow for the event to go on as planned, but there was no such luck.

The annual tree burning has been a Tulsa tradition since the 1940s.
