VINITA, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities say two Vinita men were killed Monday when their pickup truck ran off a highway and overturned.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 22-year-old Justin Andrew Thomas was dead on arrival at a Joplin, Missouri, hospital following the 12:37 PM accident in Craig County. 20-year-old Jason Jay Turnbough suffered massive injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The patrol says Thomas was driving north on Oklahoma Highway 2 when the vehicle ran off the roadway, overturned and came to rest on its tires.
Troopers say the impact threw Thomas 150 feet from the car, and Turnbough was pinned under the truck for 90 minutes.
Another passenger -- 23-year-old Travis Lee Hale -- also was pinned under the wreckage before he was freed. Hale was flown to a Missouri hospital, where he's listed in critical condition.
Investigators don't know what caused the vehicle to leave the road.
