Tulsa Mayor Bill LaFortune joined the Southern Christian Leadership Conference Friday to give turkeys to Hurricane Katrina survivors and others residing in Apache Manor.

East Tulsa Dodge donated the turkeys and hams. East Tulsa Dodge GM Yvonne Hovell: "This is only a small contribution of our effort to try to make a difference in someone else's life during this Christmas season."

The Southern Christian Leadership Conference is one of the nation's oldest organizations dedicated to fighting racial injustice. It was founded by Dr Martin Luther King Junior.
