PSO says about 130 customers lost power Monday afternoon when a water main broken near 2nd and Main Street in downtown Tulsa, most of them businesses.
That means a lot of lost revenue for companies that had to send folks home early.
News on 6 anchor Tami Marler says maybe the business most folks will recognize is the Tulsa World, which had to put out an abbreviated, 12-page, edition Tuesday morning.
Tuesday, the power was back on, the newsroom was full and busy again, and Tulsa World officials say everything seems to be working as it should be. Most importantly, the presses are up-and-running again.
Managing Editor Susan Ellerbach says even though Tuesday's edition went out with no advertisements, Tulsa World executives have a plan to make up the revenue. “We’ve really been fortunate because we've contacted most of our advertisers and a lot of them chose to go ahead and run with us tomorrow, four crossword puzzles and we're trying to put those kind of elements back into the paper, if you're following a comic you'll be able to see both days tomorrow."
Ellerbach says plan on your Wednesday paper being larger than usual.
