The federal government says it will try to get $5.5-million in lost wages and damages from a now-defunct Tulsa company.

Prosecutors say foreign workers were held at the company against their will. This is a case the News on 6 has been following since early 2002.

More than 50 employees of the John Pickle Company say they were kept in a factory dormitory and paid less than minimum wage. The company has acknowledged it did not pay workers minimum wage, but denies any other wrongdoing.

The feds say a big judgment against the company would deter other businesses from exploiting immigrant workers.
