MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) -- Former Latimer County Sheriff Melvin Holly was sentenced Wednesday to 25 years in prison for sexually abusing and threatening county jail inmates.
US Attorney Sheldon Sperling says Holly was given the sentence with no chance for parole.
Holly was found guilty in August on 12 federal charges of deprivation of rights under the color of law, and single charges of lying to the FBI and tampering with a witness.
